Visited by the motorists, the caravanners and the cyclists during summer period, the rest area of Frontenac is a well fitted out place that we can picnic and cook food on a outdoor fire place. This new regional entertaining installation has 30 foot height and offers a breathtaking landscape. Indeed, down from the tower, the visitors can discover, among others, the moun Mégantic, admire the rural landscape of Piopolis and take advantage of the overhang sight of the lake Mégantic.
Reading tables wait for the visitors at the top of the tower. All can take advantage of the extraordinary panorama and acquaint with historic events which marked the region. We can think of the Scottish and Canadian-French colonization of the beginning of the 18th century, the passage of the general Benedict Arnold and his troops during the assault of Quebec in 1775 and in the history of the Méganticois (12 000 years of Amerindian history).
Panels also present majorpoint of interests to tourist as the national parks, the zecs, the beaches, etc.
The local development board of Frontenac invites you proudly to climb to the top of the tower!

At Parc national du Mont-Mégantic, mountains, valleys, ridges and hills combine in a unique, natural landscape of breathtaking vistas. From the earth to the stars enjoy a wonderful experience. The Parc offers guided tour of the observatories, unforgettable evenings of observation throught the telescope and visits of the ASRTOLab, astronomical interpretation center (exhibitions and multimedia show). Whatever your interest-hiking, cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, activities with nature or astronomy specialists, or an evening of stargazing Parc national du Mont-Mégantic has plenty to discover. Evening astronomy observation upon reservations. Unfortunately, every Monday, you can not see stars on the big telescop.

Still underestimated, the territory of the mountain Gosford is a magnificent place of wild nature at some hours of road of the big centres. The Inhabited forest of Mount Gosford is the highest summit in Southern Quebec (1193 m). There are 35 km of trails, a pavillon at the foot of the mountain open to visitors all year round, rustic camping sites, 3 sided shelters, an observation tower that overlooks a breathtaking view of the area... and much more!!! Possibility of bringing your dog, etc. Spring and summer activities: hiking (circuits of some hours in a dozen days), the cycle on forest roads (more than 35 km), the observation of the nature, the wilderness camping, the ornithology (sectors accommodating the thrush of Bicknell, the fishing in brooks, the MOUNTAIN BIKE on forest roads, etc.;
Autumn : All the previous activities safe during two weeks of hunting in the Canadian moose (the access to the territory is restricted to the only hunters for evident reasons of security.
Winter: snowshoeing, nordic skiing and ballads in harnesses of dogs.
